How does Google search result rank work ?

In order to understand how Google search result rank works, we have to know how Google provides search results work.
Google provides search results in three steps, they are:
1. Crawling. The first step is finding out what pages exist on the web. There isn’t a central registry of all web pages, so Google must constantly search for new pages and add them to its list of known pages. This process of discovery is called crawling.Some pages are known because Google has already crawled them before. Other pages are discovered when Google follows a link from a known page to a new page. Still other pages are discovered when a website owner submits a list of pages (a sitemap ) for Google to crawl. If you’re using a managed web host, such as Wix or Blogger, they might tell Google to crawl any updated or new pages that you make.
2. Indexing. After a page is discovered, Google tries to understand what the page is about. This process is called indexing. Google analyzes the content of the page, and otherwise tries to understand the page. This information is stored in the Google index, a huge database stored in many computers.
3. Serving and Ranking. This is the step that you are all most curious about and would like to optimize in. When a user types a query, Google tries to find the most relevant answer from its index based on many factors. Google tries to determine the highest quality answers, and factor in other considerations that will provide the best user experience and most appropriate answer, by considering things such as the user’s location, language, and device ( desktop or mobile phone ). For example, searching for “bicycle repair shops” would show different answers to a user in Paris than it would to a user in Hong Kong. Google does not accept payment to rank pages higher, and ranking is done programmatically.
The websites that Google ranks on the first page of its search results for any given search term are the ones that they consider to be the most relevant and useful. Google determines which websites are the most relevant and useful by using a complex algorithm which takes into account 200+ factors.

The website ranked in first place is the website that the algorithm has given the best score to when taking into account the 200+ factors. Google is constantly reviewing, adjusting, and updating its search results, so a website that is ranked on 1st place today could potentially not even be on the first page next week.
There is no magic button that we can press to guarantee a first place on Google search results. By paying attention to the factors that the algorithm places value on, and actively working to improve them, we can guarantee to improve our website rank on Google search results rank.
