How to increase impression share for SEO?

Impression share of your URL ( it can be your website’s or web page’s URL ) is the total number of times your URL is shown on the organic Search Engine Result Pages ( SERP ).

For example, a Search Engine user search for the keyword “digital marketing” on Google. He or she only saw the first page of the Google search result pages. My URLs were on the 3rd to the 5th page of the Google search result pages. It means, my URLs got zero impression share because the user did not see Google search result pages after the 1st page.

Another example, the same Search Engine user search for the keyword “digital marketing specialist” on Google. He or she saw the first page of Google search result page only. One of my URLs was on the first page of that Google search result pages. It means, my URL got 1 impression share.

70+ % of Search Engines users only see the first page of SERP. It means if your URLs are on the pages after the first page of SERP, the chance of your URLs of getting impression share is extremely low.

Increasing impression share and lifting your URLs’ rank on SERP up is just like “chicken and egg” problem, which one should be done first? The answer is, lifting your URLs’ rank on SERP up is the first thing you should do in order to increase your URLs’ impression share on SERP.

My previous blog posting about “How to get to the top of Google search?” can help you to lift your URLs’ rank on SERP up.
